Athena (Triglyph), 2015, rulers on wood panel, 37 × 16.25 × 2.5 inches.
My work was inspired by Classical Greek architecture, particularly its iconic temple in Athens, the Parthenon. Using the same ideals of order and balanced proportion exemplified in these structures, I constructed the work out of the very same tool of standard measurement used to determine its form, rulers. The dimensions of the work are in the same 4:9 - width:length ratio as the footprint of the Parthenon.
